WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- An accident report says a 16-year-old Wausau boy killed in a vehicle crash this weekend was teaching a 14-year-old girl how to drive.
Marathon County officials say Wausau West High School student Codi C. Beck was killed in the crash Sunday about 2:45 p.m.
The crash report says the girl told investigators Beck was showing her how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. She said the Ford Probe wasn't properly aligned and had a tendency to swerve.
A 22-year-old driver heading in the opposite direction told police he saw the oncoming car hit the shoulder and swerve into oncoming traffic. The man says he slowed but collided with the passenger side where Beck was seated.
The 14-year-old girl was in fair condition at a hospital Monday night. The other driver wasn't hurt.
