MIDDLETON, Wis. (AP) — The Post-Crescent of Appleton took daily newspaper of the year honors Friday in the annual newspaper contest of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation.

The Sauk Prairie Eagle of Sauk City was the weekly newspaper of the year.

The newspapers scored the most total points in the daily and weekly divisions of the WNA contest. Points were awarded based on the number of first-, second- and third-place finishes in each of the contest categories.

The WNA is comprised of the state's daily, weekly and college newspapers.

Contest winners were honored at the association's annual meeting in Middleton.
