WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities are holding a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Waukesha.
A police statement Sunday says the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. It says the victim's vehicle ran out of gas and was being pushed when it was struck by the suspect's vehicle. Police say the woman was ejected, and the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
Police say the suspect vehicle was spotted a short time later in Waukesha. The man suspected of driving it at the time of the crash, a 28-year-old Waukesha man, was arrested Saturday evening in Racine.
Police say the potential charges include homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and hit and run causing death.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
