GERMANTOWN, Wis. (AP) -- Germantown police say a man whose body was found in a submerged car this week was a 91-year-old who disappeared almost seven months ago.

Authorities don't suspect foul play in the death of Miles Leppla of Cedarburg. They say his death is being handled as a fatal traffic accident.

Leppla's car was found Wednesday afternoon. His identity was released Friday.

Leppla's family had originally suspected foul play. They said Leppla lived an extremely regimented life and never deviated from habit, including his habit of obsessively turning off lights when he left a room.

So when they arrived at his empty home in October and found lights on throughout the house, they feared he was kidnapped.

Police say the evidence appears to suggest otherwise.
