EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in northwestern Wisconsin have recovered the body of a 50-year-old Onalaska man who had been missing on Red Cedar Lake for over three weeks.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald tells WEAU-TV a boater found the body of Todd Gordon on Sunday morning, not far from where he was believed to have fallen into the water.
Deputies say Gordon went missing April 6 when he was trying out his new boat on the lake, northeast of the community of Rice Lake. His boat was found on shore with nobody in it.
Fitzgerald says the boater who discovered Gordon was a private citizen who was helping the sheriff's department with the search.
