NBC 15's Phil Levin spoke with managers from the Hilltop Motel. They say they didn't find out about the shooting death until police arrived this morning.
They also say there were other guests in the motel in rooms next to the room occupied by the victim, and those other guests did not hear anything that sounded like gunshots. They say the most they heard was a "knocking" noise.
