STURGEON BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A Door County mother has reached a plea deal in the death of her 8-month-old daughter.

Thirty-three-year-old Melissa Martinez has pleaded no contest to neglecting a child with the consequence of death. In exchange, prosecutors dropped a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

Prosecutors say Martinez left Elena in an SUV in the driveway of their home for several hours last October. Authorities say Martinez's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit for driving four hours after the baby was found unresponsive.

WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/LnCZR5 ) says Martinez will be sentenced Sept. 7. She faces a maximum 25 years in prison.
