TOWN OF FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities have removed dozens of dogs and goats from the property of a dog breeder in Fond du Lac County.

Officials also found a number of dead animals at the farm. The Humane Society euthanized two dogs that were beyond saving.

The Reporter newspaper (http://fondul.ac/JqTRnK) reports a sheriff's deputy found a calf on Highway 45. When the deputy went to the farm to determine if the calf belonged there, he found dead goats and more than 60 dogs outside and in barns and sheds.

A 10-year-old boy was the only person in the home. The Fond du Lac County Department of Social Services took the child into custody.

On Thursday, officials removed 65 dogs and 50 goats from the property. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney's office.
