LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A La Crosse father who fractured the skull, ribs, arms and legs of his infant daughter has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
La Crosse County prosecutor Crystal Jensen says it's too soon to tell whether the child will suffer permanent damage from the abuse inflicted by her father, 31-year-old Gavin Attoe. Jensen says the 3-month-old baby was subjected to "repeated systematic torture" at the hands of her father between October 2010 and February 2011.
The La Crosse Tribune says Attoe was charged with five counts of physical abuse of a child and pleaded no contest to two counts.
