Feds Say Wisconsin First In Jobs Lost

Posted Wednesday, April 25, 2012 --- 7:45 a.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says Wisconsin lost more jobs in the past year than any other state.

The bureau's figures show 17,800 of the 23,900 jobs lost in the Badger State from March 2011 to March 2012 were government jobs. The loss of 6,100 private-sector jobs was also tops among the 50 states.

With the June 5 recall election approaching, Republican Gov. Scott Walker and Democrats are telling contrasting stories about Wisconsin's economy. The Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/IpnExl ) says Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett calls Walker's jobs record "a total failure." Barrett is competing for the Democratic nomination to run against Walker. But, the Walker administration notes the state unemployment rate is at its lowest since 2008 and more than 17,000 jobs were added in January and February.

Some of you need to ACTUALLY READ this report. It is a phone polled survey AND they specifically as notes that the number's are rather flexible. Stop complaining about things you JUST read in a bias news report rather than researching the facts. Now be honest, how many of you were calling for Doyle's head when he was Governor raising your taxes every year? Come on property owner's, be honest as I know many of you are guilty of this. As I said, READ THE ACTUAL REPORT before spouting off about something you just read. Sheep at best.

I thought Walker was going to create 250,000 jobs? This doesn't seem to be a very good start. Oh wait...that was the Koch brothers probably saying that...I forgot. Well at least he slaughtered so many people lives so he did do SOMETHING while he was in office.

Nice going Walker! Your policies are working so well! Now State of Wisconsin has lost the most private and public sector jobs than any other state. The enemployment rate dropping?? I saw a news clip showing how overwhelmed food pantries are getting. People in Wisconsin are running out of unemployment benifits and nolonger are counted as being unemployed. This is why the unemployent rate is going down. It is not going down because of new job creation. Walker you are rediculious!

Gov Walker IS turning things around for WI, where 150,000 jobs had been lost in the 3 years prior to his taking office. Wisconsin employers are predicting strong job creation in 2012, with 87 percent of WMC members creating new jobs this year, a WMC survey found. “Wisconsin employers say they will be creating new jobs in 2012, and that’s good news for our families and our communities,” said Kurt R. Bauer, President/CEO of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce. WMC is the state’s largest business association, representing small, medium, and large manufacturers and employers in all other sectors.

Keep drinking that funny stuff that Walker is giving you. If Walker drove off the cliff in a car and said we can fly, you'd be in the passenger's seat believing it.

And Walker's policies are working??? I think not. People wake up...it's time for a change so WI can move forward and get back it's reputation of being a great State to live and work in.

WI has ADDED 15,900 jobs so far this year- a positive number as opposed to the negative (-150,000) in the three years before he took office. Unemployment rate down to 6.8% (lowest since 2008). On March 13, the Manpower Group, released their Manpower Economic Outlook Survey, and stated: Employers in Wisconsin expect to hire at an active pace during the second quarter of 2012; The state’s chamber of commerce, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce also released two surveys in the last few months that showed: · 44% of respondents expect to add employees in the next six months; · 94% of respondents think Wisconsin is headed in the right direction; Gov Walker had a lot of job loss to make up for when he took office, but he's got us going in the right direction!.

I like how you read what you want to read. The article said lost more jobs this past year, yes the year Walker was in office. Clueless! Take off the blind folders.

Anonymous, you need to do some research and take off the blinders that let you believe everything printed on this website. So if you know it all, how many jobs were destroyed or businesses leave Wisconsin when Doyle was in office? Or do you not know due to those number's not being printed? Do some research and take off YOUR blinder's
