MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Fort McCoy is offering a new online service for hunters and anglers hoping to access the site about 30 miles east of La Crosse.
The site provides around-the-clock access to obtaining hunting applications, details about regulations, information about areas open to hunting and fishing, and answers to commonly asked questions.
Anyone who wishes to access the site must have a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources customer number in order to establish a user account.
In the future the site will be able to be used to apply for hunt permits online, view application status and access fact sheets and specific hunts.
The site is www.mccoy.isportsman.net . It went live Oct. 1.
