MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- U.S. Senate hopefuls Tammy Baldwin and Tommy Thompson will meet tonight in Milwaukee for their first debate. The two are scheduled to appear at two more debates ahead of the November 6th election.
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) -- A 69-year-old Portage County woman's due in court today to face charges that she cashed Social Security checks belonging to her mother. Delores Disher's charged with four felonies, including being party to theft and mail fraud. Her mother would be 100 if she was still alive, but authorities believe the woman died 30 years ago.
KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A single-engine airplane crash-landed near the Kenosha County jail yesterday afternoon, but investigators say no one was hurt. The pilot was the only person on board when the plane went down shortly after takeoff.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Officials say more people are combing the woods in Wisconsin and across the country searching for the increasingly rare plant as prices soar and the economy sputters. Coveted in Asian markets for its medicinal properties, wild ginseng roots are selling for as much as $500 a pound.
