MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker plans to speak at an education conference hosted by Harvard University.

Walker planned to talk at the event Thursday at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

The two-day conference focuses on international and United States state trends in student performance.

Walker's office says the governor plans to talk about changes he's enacted since taking office last year, which included effectively ending collective bargaining for teachers and school employees.

That change, as well deep cuts in education aid, led to the drive to recall Walker. He won the June recall by 7 points.
