Illinois Man Dead After Crash In Walworth County

From the Walworth County Sheriff's Office:

A man from Palatine, Illinois has died from injuries he sustained on Saturday, June 9th, during a motorcycle crash in Walworth County. He died on June 12th at 722am.

The man is identified as Randy J Detloff, age 41, of Palatine Illinois. He was the operator of a 1986 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and his passenger is identified as Holly N Strever, age 37, of Delavan, WI. Ms. Strever did not suffer serious injuries from this crash. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a helmet.

On Saturday, June 9th, approximately 12:26pm, Detloff and his passenger were northbound on County Trunk Highway “H” about ¾ mile north of Greening Road in the Town of LaGrange. The driver left the roadway and entered the soft shoulder. He attempted to regain control of the motorcycle and over-corrected, ejecting both occupants off the motorcycle. The driver sustained critical head injuries.

Detloff was airlifted to a Milwaukee-area hospital where he died on Tuesday.
