BROOKFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- People are voting in a Milwaukee suburb for the next president of Iran.
A polling station with a voting booth has been set up in a conference room at the Best Western Plus Midway Hotel & Suites in Brookfield for Iran citizens to cast paper ballots.
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee graduate student Reihaneh Hamidi is voting there for moderate candidate Hasan Rowhani, a former nuclear negotiator.
Hamidi says she chose Rowhani because he criticized the current Iranian administration for its foreign policy and nuclear program and seems to have a greater focus on economic development. She says he emphasizes improving people's living conditions, which she agrees is important.
If no candidate gets more than half of the votes on Friday, a run-off election will be held June 21.
