WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Another Republican has jumped into the U.S. Senate race.

Kip Smith made his official announcement in Wausau Tuesday. The Rhinelander physical therapist says voters need to send "common-sense Americans", or citizen legislators, to Washington.

Smith says he's the candidate to help mend divisiveness in Washington.

Smith joins a crowded Republican field including former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson, Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald, and former Rep. Mark Neumann.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin is running as a Democrat.
