UPDATE: La Crosse Highway Back Open after Landslide

UPDATED Sunday, March 31, 2013 --- 2:59p.m.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A La Crosse highway has been reopened after a landslide forced the closure of both westbound lanes.

No one was injured in the mudslide, which happened Saturday about 5:30 p.m. Mud and debris washed across two lanes of Highway 14, just east of the Highway 35 split.

Authorities rerouted traffic into the eastbound lanes, causing several hours of delays while heavy equipment was used to clean up the mess.

The highway was reopened about 8:15 p.m.
