PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- A rural Lodi woman has been crowned the next Alice in Dairyland.
Twenty-five-year-old Rochelle Elizabeth Ripp was awarded the title on Saturday night. She will spend the next year promoting the state's agriculture industry.
Ripp is a 2009 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville and as an agribusiness degree in communications.
Fort Atkinson Daily Jefferson County Union reports that Ripp will begin her $40,000 state-paid ambassador position on June 4.
Ripp is currently an associate marketing executive at Filament Marketing in Madison. She says she's looking forward to representing the state's $59 billion agriculture industry.
