Posted Saturday, October 13, 2012 --- 9:10 p.m.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 29-year-old Milwaukee man has been convicted in a 2005 shooting that killed one person and wounded two others.

Robert Tongxia Phoneprasith acted as his own attorney in the trial that ended with the jury finding him guilty Friday. He was convicted of three counts of recklessly endangering safety, first-degree reckless homicide, all as a party to the crime, and being a felon with a gun.

Thirty-one-year-old Insangouia "Rick" Keonoukhoun died in the shooting.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported (http://bit.ly/TekgYj ) a 2010 trial in the case resulted in a mistrial on most counts.

Phoneprasith tried to convince jury he fired in self-defense, but Assistant District Attorney Kevin Shomin claimed Phoneprasith and two other men essentially ambushed the victims, firing 34 rounds from two directions.
