UPDATED Wednesday, December 11, 2013 --- 6:06 p.m.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says he feels fine after undergoing an angioplasty to unblock two heart vessels.

Barrett was hospitalized for exhaustion after a 20-kilometer run Sunday. He underwent the angioplasty on Monday and is back at his City Hall office after being released from the hospital Tuesday.

Barrett, who turned 60 on Sunday, says he had been put on medication to lower his blood pressure.

He says an EKG at the hospital determined there was no muscle damage to his heart.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1bF0jqn ) reports the mayor plans to resume his running regiment as soon as his doctors give him the OK.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Doctors have recommended that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett spend another night in the hospital, where he's being treated for exhaustion following a 20-kilometer run.

The mayor's office says Barrett underwent a series of tests Monday at Wheaton Franciscan-Wisconsin Heart Hospital, and "nothing alarming was found."

Barrett's spokesman, Jeff Fleming, says the mayor is in good spirits but will spend another night in the hospital.

While scheduled meetings on Barrett's calendar have been postponed, he continues to monitor city business from the hospital.

Barrett, who turned 60 on Sunday, ran the race Sunday indoors at the Pettit National Ice Center. He finished the run before requiring medical attention.
