MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Authorities say another Milwaukee baby has died after being exposed to unsafe sleeping conditions.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports it's the 11th such death in Milwaukee so far this year.
Police say the infant's 36-year-mother smelled like she had been drinking and gave investigators different stories.
At first the mother said she fell asleep early Sunday on a living room couch with her 6-month-old daughter on her chest.
She later changed her account, saying she placed the baby, who was born with a heart condition, on the couch with her 15-month-old sibling and then fell asleep on a love seat. Investigators found beer cans in the room.
The Milwaukee County medical examiner says an autopsy was performed Monday and the cause of death is pending. No trauma was found.
