MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee police have arrested four people for disorderly conduct at a downtown Occupy Milwaukee protest.

The protest began Wednesday at Pere Marquette Park and proceeded along North Plankinton Avenue and to Zeidler Union Square. Along the way, several protesters stepped into the street and disregarded police commands that they remain on the sidewalk.

About 40 people were at the parks and about 30 police officers were dispatched to the demonstration. Traffic was briefly blocked.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports protesters shouted down Police Chief Edward Flynn as he tried to brief reporters about the arrests.
