LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- La Crosse police are investigating who shot to death a father and son in a photography store. Captain Robert Lawrence says the homicides occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday, roughly the same time a photography class at May's Photo ends and the store closes. MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The state is investigating whether a prepaid funeral plan offered through Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association violated state securities laws. Under the prepaid funeral plan, a consumer pays a local funeral director who sends the funds to the trust. On Friday, a Dane County judge appointed a Milwaukee lawyer to take control of the association to protect an estimated 10,500 consumers who had money in the plan.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says he will seek a court order to end a teachers strike set to enter its second week. Emanuel said the strike is illegal under state law. The Chicago teachers union decided yesterday to continue its weeklong strike.
