RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A 16-year-old boy is dead after swimming with friends in Racine. The Racine County Sheriff's Department says the boy had been jumping off a pier at Quarry Lake Park yesterday evening with friends. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — The Winnebago County District Attorney wants to be able to carry his gun in the county courthouse. County judges have said Christian Gossett can't take a gun to work without written permission of the presiding judge. But Gossett contends the order contradicts the concealed carry law passed last year.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants to erase nearly a dozen rules to comply Governor Scott Walker's order to identify language hindering business. Walker ordered all state agencies in February to review their rules and change any language that burdens small businesses. Officials have identified 11 rules they say are obsolete.
JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) — Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is visiting Wisconsin for the first time since Governor Scott Walker survived a recall election. Romney plans to visit Janesville today alongside Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan. The state hasn't voted for a Republican for president since 1984.
