BAYFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- A Bayfield woman charged in a crash that killed her 2-year-old daughter has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges.
WDIO-TV says 24-year-old Chelsea Cadotte is charged in Bayfield County with second-degree reckless homicide and first-degree reckless injury.
Authorities say Cadotte was speeding southbound on Highway 13 near Washburn last July. Her three children and 15-year-old sister were passengers in the vehicle. Officials allege she was distracted by a child in the back seat which caused her to swerve and roll several times into the ditch.
All four passengers were thrown from the vehicle. Deputies say they were not wearing seat belts.
