WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) -- A mother and her boyfriend are charged in the death of the woman's 3-year-old daughter in Washington County.

A criminal complaint says 25-year-old Leann Leszynski and her 24-year-old boyfriend, Justin Streicher, failed to get medical help for the girl who had a cut on her finger that became infected. A medical examiner's report said the bacterial infection was a factor in her death. The report says the toddler also had head and neck injuries.

WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/INUtRV ) reports police received a call from a doctor's office concerned about the child after speaking with Leszynski. She told the doctor's office she couldn't pick up a prescription because her daughter had died.

The two are charged with child neglect resulting in death, maintaining a drug trafficking place and drug possession.
