MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A new report says 77 children in Milwaukee have been sexually exploited in the two-year period ending Aug. 1, 2012.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says in a story published Tuesday that the report marks the first time a number has been placed on how many youths are involved in sex trafficking in the city.
Claudine O'Leary is with Rethink Resources, an organization that offers training to assist youths and adults who have been sexually exploited. She says the 77 number is just a fraction of the number of children who have been sexually exploited during those two years in Milwaukee.
The report was paid for by the Bob and Linda Davis Family Fund and the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare.
