GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A Green Bay man has been jailed on suspicion of his fifth drunken-driving offense after he allegedly rear-ended a police car in Green Bay.

Lt. Mark Hellmann says Officer Ben Schindel had stepped out of his marked police car during a routine traffic stop around 2 a.m. Thursday when his car was hit from behind by an SUV. Neither the officer nor the suspect was injured. The squad car sustained minor damage and was towed to the police garage.

Hellmann says investigators found an open alcohol container in the SUV. The 32-year-old driver is also suspected of several other offenses, including driving on a revoked license, inattentive driving, not wearing a seat belt and driving without insurance.
