SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A man accused of using death notices to target burglary victims has pleaded not guilty to charges in Sheboygan County.

Dennis Petrie entered the pleas to 40 counts of burglarizing homes of the recently deceased. Ten additional counts were dismissed because of the statute of limitations or lack of evidence.

Petrie is also accused of burglarizing homes belonging to former co-workers and people on extended vacations.

The Sheboygan Press reports Petrie had amassed such a large amount of stolen goods that it took five van loads, two pickup trucks and two U-Haul trucks to haul it all away.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A man accused of using obituary notices and estate sale listings to burglarize homes of the recently deceased is facing 31 additional criminal charges in Sheboygan County.

Prosecutors say more victims have emerged and identified stolen items found at Dennis Petrie's Town of Sheboygan Falls home.

A judge has ordered Petrie to stand trial on a total of 50 counts of theft, burglary and firearms charges.

The Sheboygan Press (http://shebpr.es/L3q7kz ) says the 62-year-old Petrie remains free on $25,000 bond. He was arrested in March.
