GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton says President Barack Obama is facing a tough re-election race because "impatient" Americans haven't fully recognized an economy on the mend. Campaigning for Obama last night in Green Bay, Clinton urged voters to stay the course. But recent polls are making Republicans think Mitt Romney can win the Badger state, which hasn't gone to a GOP presidential candidate since 1984.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state's quasi-public economic development agency lost track of $69 million in loans to businesses because no one was in charge of keeping tabs of that money. Members of the board that oversees the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation were told yesterday that no one was put in charge of tracking the loans issued by its predecessor agency.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — Rust Belt labor unions that have suffered defeats in recent years hope a November ballot referendum in Michigan will help reverse their fortunes. The measure would place collective bargaining rights for public and private employees in Michigan's state constitution. Several other states have similar constitutional guarantees, but this is the first time it's been attempted by ballot initiative.

JACKSON, Wis. (AP) — More than 90 families in the Town of Jackson have signed on to a planned lawsuit over a pipeline spill. A section of 10-inch pipe in West Shore's Milwaukee-to-Green Bay line ruptured July 17th in Jackson. An estimated 54,600 gallons of gasoline were released within a few minutes.
