ST. LOUIS (AP) — Governor Scott Walker has told a cheering audience at the National Rifle Association convention that the Wisconsin recall vote he's facing is actually a referendum on big government. Walker was among many A-list Republicans who spoke yesterday at the NRA's annual convention in St. Louis, Missouri. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and former candidate Rick Santorum also spoke on Friday.
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The fierce thunderstorms the Storm Prediction Center has predicted for this weekend across the nation's mid-section have already produced their first tornado. Forecasters at the center in Norman, Oklahoma tracked a twister that touched down near the University of Oklahoma campus around 4 p.m. yesterday. The National Weather Service is forecasting severe weather for this afternoon from Texas to Minnesota.
KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Kenosha police have identified a decomposed body found by children playing on the rocks along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Police said yesterday the body found Wednesday is that of 37-year-old Bradley Evans. Evans had been reported missing on February 3rd.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The government says a yellowfin tuna product used to make dishes like sushi and sashimi sold at restaurants and grocery stores has been linked with an outbreak of salmonella. The outbreak has sickened more than 100 people in 20 states, including Wisconsin. The Food and Drug Administration reported yesterday that 116 illnesses have been reported, including 12 people who have been hospitalized.
