GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Governor Scott Walker says he has no interest in making Wisconsin a right to work state and he won't allow the Republican-controlled Legislature to pass a bill that would do that. Walker was asked yesterday about the issue in light of a comments he made in newly released footage from January 2011 in which he talks about taking a "divide and conquer" approach to dealing with unions.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans gathering for their annual convention are set to vote today on endorsing one of four candidates for the U.S. Senate. All four have been working behind the scenes to get the required 60 percent majority to win the Republican Party endorsement and access to its money and contacts.

FOND du LAC, Wis. (AP) — A former City of Fond du Lac department head has been sentenced in the embezzlement of more than $240,000 from taxpayers. A judge sentenced Mark Beveridge yesterday to 1½ years in prison and two years extended supervision. In March, a jury convicted Beveridge on 17 counts but acquitted him on eight others.

TOWN OF BERN, Wis. (AP) — A 3-year-old boy is dead after a farm accident in Marathon County. Deputies say the boy was killed yesterday when he was run over by a skid steer loader driven by his 7-year-old brother. The accident happened in the Town of Bern. The victim's name has not been released.
