Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Governor Scott Walker and his Democratic challenger Tom Barrett have sparred for a fifth day over how many jobs have been created or lost in Wisconsin. A new U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report released yesterday shows Wisconsin lost more jobs than any other state between April 2011 and last month. Walker released those figures before they had been vetted by the BLS, a move Barrett says makes them unbelievable.
META, Mo. (AP) — Missouri-based Diamond Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling another type of dog food because of potential exposure to salmonella. The recall announced yesterday applies to samples, 6-pound bags and 18-pound bags of Diamond Naturals Small Breed Adult Dog Lamb and Rice Formula food manufactured on August 26th, 2011. The product was distributed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and other states.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Wisconsin mine that extracts sand for use in the oil and gas industry has spilled an unknown amount of sediment into the St. Croix River and wetlands near the Minnesota border. Wisconsin conservation officials learned of the leak on April 22nd.
