Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The National Weather Service has extended heat warnings for parts of Wisconsin into today — after days of excessive temperatures that reached into the 100s. Heat-related deaths were reported this week in La Crosse, Lone Rock and Janesville. The death of an Onalaska man is also being investigated as possibly related to the heat.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin flag company has filed for bankruptcy. Reedsburg-based Liberty Flag and Specialty filed about a week before the July 4th holiday and a few days after it lost a quarter-million-dollar judgment to a supplier. The Wisconsin State Journal reports the company has been in business for nearly 30 years.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Supreme Court won't reconsider a lawsuit challenging Republican Governor Scott Walker's collective bargaining law. Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne argued Republicans violated the open meetings law during debate on the measure. The Supreme Court ruled in June 2011 the law stands. The tie vote ruling yesterday means the court has essentially denied Ozanne's request to revisit the case.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — This week's record high temperatures are causing toxic blue-green algae blooms in many Wisconsin lakes, streams and ponds. The Department of Natural Resources says people should be on the lookout for water that looks like pea soup. DNR is advising people to stay out of water that looks suspicious.
