UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Sheboygan Shooting

UPDATE Tuesday, June 19, 2012 --- 11:27 p.m.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- Milwaukee police have arrested a 27-year-old man in a fatal Sheboygan shooting.

Sheboygan police say Ronnie Polk was arrested without incident Tuesday.

Polk had been at large since 24-year-old Brandon Davis of Sheboygan was shot Saturday evening.

The Sheboygan Press reports Polk is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the criminal complaint, Polk told an acquaintance the shooting was an accident.

The complaint says Polk was drinking with others at a house when he pulled out a gun after arguing with Davis and began waving it. Witnesses say the gun fired and a bullet struck Davis. He died at a Wauwatosa hospital.

Online court records do not list an attorney for Polk. A court appearance is not scheduled yet.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Police are investigating the shooting death of a Sheboygan man.

Capt. James Veeser says officers went to St. Nicholas Hospital on Saturday night on a report of a 24-year-old man who had been shot. He was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he later died.

Veeser says the shooting happened in a house and was not a random act — the victim and shooter knew one another and that investigators know the identity of the suspect.

Police declined to release any other details about the shooting. The victim's name was not immediately released.

But eyewitness Asher Heimermann told the Sheboygan Press that two women and a man were taken into custody after police in at least nine marked squad cars surrounded the block at about 8 p.m.
