MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin state Assembly and Senate will begin the 2013 legislative session on Jan. 7 with the inauguration of new members.

Incoming Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Democratic Minority Leader Peter Barca said Wednesday that the 10 previous speakers of the Assembly are being invited back to be a part of the ceremony.

There are 25 new members of the Assembly. Eleven are Republicans and 14 are Democrats. Republicans hold a 60-39 advantage in the Assembly.

There are two new Republicans and one new Democrat in the Senate. Republican Paul Farrow is running uncontested for an open seat to be decided in a Dec. 4 special election.

Once Farrow is elected, Republicans will have an 18-15 advantage in the Senate.
