Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen plans to send state Justice Department investigators and lawyers to the polls during Tuesday's recall elections to discourage fraud. Van Hollen, a Republican, plans to deploy teams of special agents and assistant attorney generals across the state, including dispersing seven groups to the polls in Democratic-leaning Milwaukee. Van Hollen also sent out teams in 2008 and in 2010.
CALEDONIA, Wis. (AP) — Republican leaders are telling Governor Scott Walker's supporters this weekend to stick with him in Tuesday's recall election. Congressman Paul Ryan, a Janesville Republican, and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus appeared at a tea party rally in Caledonia near Racine yesterday.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A criminologist says Republican Governor Scott Walker's campaign misrepresented his comments about Milwaukee Police Department crime statistics in a campaign ad. Walker's campaign launched the ad accusing his Democratic challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, of lying about the statistics to make the city's crime rate look better. But Sam Walker says the quote the governor's campaign used was referring to police leadership, not the mayor. He says elected officials usually accept data police give them.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Madison police say a 38-year-old woman who was run over by a city truck while she was sunbathing at a park has died from her injuries. The truck was driving on a grassy area of James Madison Park on May 23rd when the woman was struck. The woman's name hasn't been released.
