(WEAU)-A teenager is dead after a crash in Vernon County.

The sheriff’s department says on Sunday around 2:30 in the afternoon, 17-year-old Kylie M. Von Ruden of Chaseberg was driving west on Dodson Hollow Road in the Town of Hamburg when she lost control of her vehicle, hitting a mailbox, going airborne and hitting a large tree.

Von Ruden was critically injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was then taken to Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center. She later died of her injuries.
