US Education, Agriculture Secretaries To Visit Area

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Agriculture Sectary Tom Vilsack are scheduled to host a statewide discussion with Wisconsin's agriculture teachers on Wednesday.

Duncan and Vilsack are scheduled to host the White House Rural Council event in Platteville. They are scheduled to discuss an initiative by President Barack Obama's administration to make teaching the country's most important and respected profession.

Duncan and Vilsack also plan to discuss the role teachers of agriculture affect the nation's economy.

The event will be live streamed on www.uwplatt.edu .

On Wednesday morning, Duncan is scheduled to meet with high school students in Madison to discuss how to lower the costs of going to college.
