MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The athletic director at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has resigned.
In a university statement Monday, UWM Chancellor Mike Lovell calls Rick Costello a "hard-working, dedicated professional." Lovell says the change in leadership will not affect the school's commitment to a strong Division 1 program.
Costello was named athletic director in December 2010. His resignation comes as university officials conduct a review of the athletic department. Costello says he's enjoyed his time at UWM and wishes everyone well.
