STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) -- A University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point instructor plans to deliver a talk on psychological barriers low-income college students face.

Jody Lewis is an assistant professor in the college's psychology department. She's scheduled to present a talk entitled "Social Class in Education: Psychological Factors Limit Upward Social Mobility" on campus the evening of May 10.

Lewis says her research focuses on factors that prevent poor students from graduating, how to improve classroom activities and testing methods and motivating students.
