CHILTON, Wis. (AP) -- A Chilton woman who's accused of inflicting "repeated, severe physical abuse" on her 3-year-old son will be back in court Thursday. The 26-year-old is charged with two counts of felony child abuse.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy died yesterday afternoon during a traffic collision near downtown Milwaukee. Deputy Sergio Aleman is the first deputy to die in the line of duty since 2000.

BAYFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- A tribe in far northern Wisconsin is getting ready to open 89 acres of tribal land to the public. The Red Cliff Chippewa plan to unveil Frog Bay Tribal National Park on Friday. It's the first time that a national park that's tribally owned or controlled has opened to the public.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) -- Tap dancers will descend on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus next week when the school hosts the Point Tap Festival. Participants can take three days' worth of classes and participate in an informal jam session.
