Wednesday Morning Wisconsin News Headlines

Posted Wednesday, June 27, 2012 --- 6:45 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The conservative Club for Growth is hammering Wisconsin Republican Senate candidate Tommy Thompson ahead of tomorrow's expected U.S. Supreme Court ruling on President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. The national group is circulating a 2006 video clip of Thompson voicing his support for mandating that people have health insurance. Thompson's since said the mandate that's a key part of the Obama health care law isn't practical.

FITCHBURG, Wis. (AP) -- An autopsy is expected to be performed today on the body of a man who was found yesterday in the hallway of a Fitchburg apartment building. Police say they're investigating the man's death as a homicide.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Supreme Court is expected to release a ruling today about how much government entities can charge the public for processing open record requests. The case centers around an open records request the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel filed with the Milwaukee Police Department seeking hundreds of reports.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- As the mercury soars this week, Wisconsin public health officials say residents should use common sense to stay cool. People should drink plenty of water and make sure not to leave children, pets or people in parked cars -- even briefly. Authorities are also asking residents to check on family, friends and neighbors who might be at risk because of age or health problems.
