Wis. Man Pleads Guilty to Providing Fatal Heroin

Posted Monday, December 10, 2012 --- 10:03 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A 22-year-old homeless man from Green Bay has been convicted of providing heroin that led to another man's death.

A Green Bay Press-Gazette report says Richard G. Kellogg faces up to 25 years in prison when he's sentenced next month. He pleaded guilty last week to first-degree reckless homicide.

Prosecutors say Kellogg provided the drugs that that killed 29-year-old Joshua Olson of De Pere. The two had met at a rehabilitation center.

The criminal complaint says Kellogg and Olson were preparing to inject heroin in Olson's kitchen. The complaint says Olson injected himself first and collapsed two to three minutes later.

Investigators say Kellogg told police, "Josh couldn't handle the `H."'

Kellogg's defense attorney declined to comment Monday.
