TOWN OF NEVA, Wis. (AP) -- A 52-year-old Wisconsin man has died after crashing while trying to elude sheriff's deputies.
Authorities got a series of calls about 52-year-old Timothy Zahurones of Summit Lake on Wednesday night. The first came from a tavern in the Town of Neva where a bartender says the man had threatened him before leaving the bar.
Langlade County Sheriff William Greening says Zahurones went to another tavern, where he was refused service. More calls came in saying Zahurones made a suicide threat and was involved in a domestic dispute.
Deputies found Zahurones and started pursuing him when Zahurones crossed the center line, hit a boat being towed by a pickup that had pulled over, and crashed into a group of trees.
WAOW-TV reports Zahurones died at the scene.
