MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin wildlife officials are looking for information on any collared and tagged deer hunters kill this fall.

The state Department of Natural Resources have placed radio collars on more than 240 deer and ear-tags on another 200 animals in Rusk, Sawyer, Price, Shawano, Waupaca and Outagamie counties as part of a deer mortality study.

Those deer are fair game in this fall's archery and gun seasons. But DNR officials are asking hunters who take one to call the agency. They'd like to know the deer's tag or collar number, the circumstances and location of the kill and the hunter's phone number.
