FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- A Fond du Lac woman was sentenced to 14 years in prison after she pleaded no contest to trying to kill her 6-year-old daughter during her own failed suicide attempt. Twenty-six-year-old Kenna Bowe was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide after she gave the girl 12 sleeping pills.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Next year's Wisconsin state park admission stickers will go on sale this weekend. The stickers grant year-round access to more than 60 parks, forests and recreation areas. They're $25, but senior citizens can get a discount.

IRONWOOD, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan's governor says that state will work to create a 599-mile hiking and biking trail that stretches from Detroit to the Wisconsin border in the western Upper Peninsula. The proposal would build on existing trails.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Governor Scott Walker will light the Capitol Christmas tree this morning. The 37-foot balsam fir will be in the Capitol rotunda and is decorated with handmade ornaments from school children.
