Wisconsin DNR Secretary Names New Regional Manager

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp has named a new manager for the agency's west-central region.

Dan Baumann is a 19-year agency veteran. He began his stint with the DNR in 1992 as an engineering intern and has served as basin leader for the Bad Ax Basin in La Crosse and as a regional water leader.

He has served as acting regional director since Scott Humrickhouse retired earlier this year.

Regional directors serve as the DNR's representatives with local government and organizations. The west-central region includes Adams, Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Crawford, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Marathon, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, Portage, St. Croix, Trempealeau, Vernon and Wood counties.
