MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A West Salem day trader accused of gunning down his parents is set to stand trial next month.

Prosecutors have charged Eric Koula with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of Merna and Dennis Koula. They were found shot to death in their town of Barre home in May 2010.

Prosecutors say Koula killed them to collect on his inheritance. His attorney contends a professional killer executed the couple.

La Crosse County Circuit Judge Scott Horne has set a final motions hearing for Wednesday. Jury selection is scheduled to begin June 4. The trial is expected to last all month.
