MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A western Wisconsin military base is inviting the public to visit next month.
Fort McCoy plans to hold its annual Armed Forces Day Open House on May 19. Activities will include bus tours, camouflage face painting, temporary tattoos, a concession stand, an interactive shooting gallery, and displays about the fort's environmental programs and military equipment.
The fort's History Center, which includes displays, photographs and memorabilia as well as World War II-era buildings, also will be open.
The sprawling training installation lies between Tomah and Sparta.
